Cypress trees line the banks of Reelfoot Lake in northwestern Tennessee where the 2011 Reunion of Champion Descendants convened on July 3rd.  About eighty descendants, spouses and friends attended the one day event at the Reelfoot Lake State Park Conference Center.  Many of the attendees arrived days early or stayed over to enjoy the many nature attractions around the lake.  The Bald Eagle and Waterfowl Tours was a highlight for some while others took a scenic boat tour of the lake.  Some enjoyed the R.C. Donaldson Memorial Museum of natural and cultural exhibits of the area.

While the area attractions were a big hit, the opportunity to visit with family members was the clearly the highlight of the Independence Day weekend.
